I love music and art, but I have no musical talent and forget about my freehand drawing skills. I had a speech impediment till I was 5 and synaptic issue till I was 8, so reading and writing were a challenge. Without any means to articulate I lived in my head. Then I discovered video editing in middle school and found a way to express myself. I found I could use the art other people have made and create my own. When I look at my timelines on Premiere, I feel like Dr. Frankenstein suturing his creation together: blending and matching music and sound fx with architecture, sculpture, and painting. But where Dr. Frankenstein thought he created something horrific, I create something beautiful.
I am a graduate from UC Berkeley with a double major in Film Studies and Cognitive Science. I played 4 years of water polo where we won a national championship in my sophomore year. It was at this time I started editing pump-up videos for the team before big games. Once my playing career was over, I started working for Cal Athletics as a Creative Content Intern. There I honed my skills as an editor and videographer. If you want to collaborate you can message me on Instagram @txtfilm or email me at simenct96@gmail.com
